Signer Instructions - Remote Online Notary
-
Preparation
Any digitized document (PDF) or image can be uploaded for notarization. Some documents, such as birth certificates, death certificates, and court documents often require in-person notarizations or qualified witnesses. Here is a list of acceptable documents. If you have any questions, check with the party requiring the document, as Notaries cannot provide advice.
Your documents should be complete except for dates, initials and signatures. If you need witnesses you can arrange to provide your own or use one from our Notary pool for $10 extra. Check your email from Blue Notary and create your free account to upload your documents prior to our session. You can also create your digital signature and initials.
Be ready to present a valid ID to the camera at the start of our session. Make sure there is ample, indirect lighting for your video camera. See our FAQ’s for a list of acceptable ID’s.
Here is a short video of what to expect.
That’s it! See you soon!

During and After
Once your ID is verified, you will see a screen with your video feed and Jeffrey’s, as well as your document. You will be asked for your consent to conduct a recorded, online notarization, that you understand the documents and are participating freely.
Next, you will create digital initials and signature, which can then be used by drag/drop for the rest of the document. You will be asked if you agree to use a electronic signature and understand that it is legally binding. You will see Jeffrey’s cursor as a guide what to initial/sign.
When all initials and signatures have been gathered, you and Jeffrey will conduct a final review, then complete the notarization. Done!
When the session is complete, you will see a confirmation page with links to download and email your documents. Please take a minute to complete the TrustPilot survey and share your thoughts. You will also receive an email Invoice from us to pay your fees.
